Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed the game he has enjoyed the most this season so far.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss has had plenty to choose from this season, as the Reds' imperious form has seen them go eight points clear at the top of the Premier League already.

Most recently they triumphed 3-1 over title rivals Manchester City at Anfield thanks to goals from FabinhoMo Salah and Sadio Mane.

But speaking to The Atheltic, Klopp revealed that his favourite game so far this season has actually been the 5-5 draw with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

"You know the best game of the season so far for me to enjoy? It was Arsenal in the Carabao Cup." he said

“When we were 3-1 down I was thinking ‘come on, don’t give them a knock, don’t lose 4-1 or 5-1 as that wouldn’t be nice’.

“Then we started scoring again. That was my game to enjoy. I don’t have that a lot."

The Reds went 3-1 and 4-2 down to a Mesut Ozil-inspired Arsenal in the game but came back to draw 5-5 thanks to a last minute goal from Divock Origi.

They then went on to win 5-4 on penalties after 20-year-old goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher saved Dani Ceballos' spot kick, allowing fellow youngster Curtis Jones to seal the win.

While Liverpool have had plenty of special nights at Anfield under Klopp, such as the amazing 4-0 comeback win against Barcelona last season, the German believes the cup game ranks just as highly.

“The boys made it a special night and I loved it. The atmosphere was brilliant and buzzing. We’ve had a lot of good moments at Anfield.”

Liverpool now face Aston Villa in the quarter finals of the competition amid something of a scheduling nightmare.

They will have to face the Villans on 17 December before travelling to Qatar for the Club World Cup semi finals just a day later.
