Bayern Munich Eye Shock Move for Tottenham Hotspur Starlet Troy Parrott

​Bayern Munich are preparing a surprise move for Troy Parrott after monitoring the striker's progress throughout the season with Tottenham and the Republic of Ireland.

Parrott joined Spurs back in July 2017 from Dublin-based side Belvedere, going on to the become a prolific goalscorer with the club's youth sides and earning himself a reputation as one of his country's most exciting young talents.

Only 17 years old, Parrott has broken into the senior international fold under Mick McCarthy this season, while also making his first-team debut for ​Spurs back in September during the club's EFL Cup tie against Colchester United.

In what appears to be yet another move by a Bundesliga club to poach talent from the ​Premier League, Parrott's performances have not gone unnoticed among Germany's elite sides, with the ​Mail claiming that ​Bayern are 'preparing' a move for the Irishman.

With the success of Jadon Sancho, who joined rivals Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017, more players from the English leagues have been making the plunge and moving to the ​Bundesliga. 

The likes of Reiss Nelson, Ademola Lookman and Jonjoe Kenny have all moved to Germany in some capacity in recent seasons, with Die Roten being no different in their admiration for Premier League players.

Having failed to secure Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, it appears as if they haven't given up on luring players from the capital to Bavaria, with scouts watching Parrott's progress throughout the campaign.

The Mail's report has no mention of when a move could be made formal, only that the interest is there, so whether their admiration is something that could be accelerated in January or next summer is not known.

One thing that may affect how serious they are, however, is the instilling of new boss Jose Mourinho in north London. The Portuguese replaced the sacked Mauricio Pochettino on Wednesday and is not renowned for his faith in youth, something that could affect Parrott's future as he pushes for first-team football.
