The FA have confirmed England will face Denmark at Wembley as part of their Euro 2020 preparations next spring, also revealing the squad will take part in two more friendlies in June.

The Three Lions will host the Danes on Tuesday 31 March, with a game against a yet to be confirmed opponent also scheduled for the previous Friday at the national stadium.

The FA have also announced another two friendlies will be played in June, but one shall see England go on the road away from Wembley - the FA continuing their recent trend of scheduling games in places like Sunderland, Southampton and Leeds - and the other will take place elsewhere in Europe.

England and Denmark have plenty of history, with the 3-0 last 16 win over the Scandinavians in the 2002 World Cup perhaps the game fans of either side remember most.

Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen and Emile Heskey were all on the scoresheet that day, but England were eventually sunk by a certain Ronaldinho in the quarters. They'll be hoping to go at least one better next summer.

With both the semi-finals and the final of Euro 2020 to be held at Wembley, there's certainly an added incentive for Southgate's men to reach the last four. And why not? England will head into the tournament full of optimism, especially after their emphatic end to qualifying which ensured they finished top of Group A.

Harry Kane and co. turned on the style in their 7-0 demolition of Montenegro to seal top spot at Wembley on Thursday. The Tottenham man was at his clinical best, scoring an 18-minute hat trick to leave the visitors stunned.

Kane was backed up by a ruthless all-round display which saw Marcus Rashford find the net and Chelsea's Tammy Abraham grab his first goal for his country. Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also crowned his return to the England set-up with a goal in his first start for the national team in 18 months.

With the group won, the Three Lions then travelled to Kosovo, where maiden England strikes for Harry Winks and Mason Mount and further goals from Kane and Rashford sealed a 4-0 win.

The Danish booked their passage to the Euros in less impressive fashion, squeezing through after toiling to a 1-1 draw with the Republic of Ireland on Monday night.

That said, Denmark will be sure to pose problems at Euro 2020 and are not void of surprises, having lifted the trophy less than 30 years ago in 1992.
