Bayern Munich have confirmed that young striker Fiete Arp has picked up another arm injury in training which will force him back on to the sidelines.

Arp is yet to make an appearance for Bayern after joining the club this summer. An illness plagued the start of his season, before the 19-year-old picked up a wrist injury which kept him out of Bayern's last six games.

He only returned to training on Tuesday, but Bayern have now confirmed on their official website that Arp has returned to the sidelines after picking up a new forearm injury.

His arm has been placed in a new cast to try and help the injury heal, but there is no estimate given for how long Arp will be on the sidelines this time.

The highly rated 19-year-old sealed a free transfer to Bayern during the summer, but has found himself competing with Robert Lewandowski for minutes this season. The Poland international has scored an eye-watering 23 goals in just 18 appearances this season, ensuring he keeps his place in the lineup with relative ease.

Both Thomas Müller and Serge Gnabry have played as strikers as well this season, with Arp still waiting to make his senior debut for his new side.

However, with Lewandowski currently on track to shatter goalscoring records, losing Arp will not come as too much of a blow for Bayern. The 31-year-old has scored in every Bundesliga game this season, but has been unable to prevent some calamitous defending at the back.

Hansi Flick

Bayern currently sit third in the league table, with Borussia Mönchengladbach currently four points clear at the top of the standings.

Bayern will be hoping to move on from the poor form led to the departure of former boss Niko Kovač. Now under Hans-Dieter Flick, Bayern stormed to a dominant 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund and they will hope to maintain that momentum after the international break.
