Maguire, who is the world’s most expensive defender following his summer transfer from Leicester, will now wear PUMA ONE boots. His first game in them will be England’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley on Thursday night.
The mural in Manchester was created by local artist AKSE, renowned for his photo-realistic portraits. The work is titled ‘This Is the One’, which is both a subtle reference to the red half of Manchester and the PUMA boots that Maguire will imminently be wearing.
Maguire himself said, “To sign with such a prestigious footballing brand like PUMA is a huge honour. For both club and country, I’m motivated to perform at the highest level so it’s vital I work with a partner that matches my ambition with boots that combine innovation and comfort.
“It will be a proud moment when I lace them up for the first time on international duty.”
Maguire has been an ever present for United in the Premier League so far this season. He has also captained the side in both the EFL Cup and Europa League, as well as continuing to be one of the first names on the teamsheet for England at international level.
The 26-year-old has been an England starter virtually ever since making his senior bow against Lithuania in October 2017 and emerged as a star during the 2018 World Cup in Russia when the Three Lions finished fourth. He already has 24 caps to his name.
Harry Maguire has today been announced as PUMA Football’s latest long-term signing. The Manchester United and England centre-back will be wearing the PUMA ONE boot moving forward. Get yours NOW at uk.puma.com
