The most pivotal weekend of the Premier League so far has passed us by with plenty of drama and action to send us into the dreaded international break.

The top two clashed, as did the bottom two, while Leicester and Chelsea continued their challenge for European qualification and Tottenham were dealt yet more misery.

There were plenty of goals and plenty of Fantasy Premier League hauls as another gameweek passes us by, and most of us have now got a clearer picture of just how terrible we are at this sodding game.

Without further ado, here are the high-flyers from matchday 12:

Gerard Deulofeu

Result: Norwich 0-2 Watford

Kelly Cates,Gerard Deulofeu,Gary Neville

The Spaniard has to be one of FPL's most frustrating assets. The winger has bags of quality and constantly looks threatening while almost always failing to provide the final touch. But this week, he did.

A goal and an assist in a 2-0 win against Norwich earned him his rightful place as man of the match in what was a must-win game for Watford at the foot of the table - in fact, it was their first win of the whole Premier League season.

At the moment Deulofeu is owned by only 2.3% of managers, and at £6.1m, he could be a key differential for the FPL community given his current form.

Fikayo Tomori

Result: Chelsea 2-0 Crystal Palace

Fikayo Tomori

It's easy to be drawn to the big lights of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham when scouting Frank Lampard's revolution of youth at Stamford Bridge, but Tomori seems just as key. The 21-year-old has been in immense form lately, putting in another stellar display against Crystal Palace in Chelsea's 2-0 weekend win.

The Englishman grabbed himself nine points this weekend, and deservedly earned man of the match. At only £4.8m, the centre-back is an absolute steal for managers looking to save some precious cash.

James Tarkowski

Result: Burnley 3-0 West Ham

James Tarkowski

Burnley are never that far away from a clean sheet, and they obliged once more in their 3-0 victory over struggling West Ham. Tarkowski played remarkably well at the back for the Clarets and managed to shut out a pretty dynamic front line.

Oh, and he popped up with an assist for good measure.

Harry Wilson

Result: Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Harry Wilson,Joshua King

It's a relatively rare sight in fantasy football - a man of the match from the losing side. But Harry Wilson was a worthy winner of the award, causing Newcastle's defence problems all afternoon and grabbing the opening goal of the game as well.

The Liverpool loanee may have lost, but he was a winner for the 2.8% of managers that own him.

Richarlison

Result: Southampton 1-2 Everton

Richarlison

The Brazilian was actually tied with Tom Davies for man of the match, but because he grabbed the winner, we've given it to him. Richarlison popped up with a crucial goal for the Toffees and may have just saved his manager's job...oh, and 7.0% of FPL managers too.

The attacker grabbed a double-digit haul, scoring ten points and impressing for Everton once more.

David McGoldrick

Result: Tottenham 1-1 Sheffield United

David McGoldrick

First and foremost...oh Spurs. Secondly, Sheffield United are rather good, aren't they?

David McGoldrick started up top for Saturday's visitors and did a mighty fine job against Tottenham. The Republic of Ireland international provided a crucial assist for Chris Wilder's side and helped them earn another Premier League point away in London.

Having been in and out of the first XI this season, McGoldrick may have just played his way into starting lineup, after the cursed international break of course.

Jamie Vardy

Result: Leicester 2-0 Arsenal

Jamie Vardy

Did we even need to tell you? Of course it's him. The striker grabbed a goal and an assist in the Foxes' 2-0 win over Arsenal, and earned himself a rather lovely 12 points in the process.

Vardy has now netted 11 times in 12 Premier League games and is rewarding almost a third of all FPL managers.

More than that, he is helping Leicester mount...dare I say it: a title challenge?

Mathew Ryan

Result: Manchester United 3-1 Brighton

Mathew Ryan

It's strange to see a goalkeeper concede three goals, lose the game and still get man of the match.

But the Brighton keeper played a blinder at Old Trafford on Sunday, making nine saves against a Manchester United team that were finally playing with a little bit of swagger. A super performance from the Australian.

Ruben Neves

Result: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Aston Villa

FBL-ENG-PR-WOLVES-ASTON VILLA

There was yet another tie for man of the match in this one between Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez. However, Neves nabbed 11 points to Jimenez's nine, meaning there was only one fair winner.

The 22-year-old scored another glorious goal from outside the box and helped earn Wolves a derby day victory at Molineux over Aston Villa.

The man for the big occasion.

Bernardo Silva

Result: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester City

Bernardo Silva

While Manchester City ended up losing their gargantuan top of the table clash against Liverpool, the Citizens still played some lovely football at Anfield. Bernardo Silva was their best creator and looked as if he had given his side a glimmer of hope scoring late on.

The midfielder earned himself ten points but - due to 'Pep Roulette' - is only owned by 13.0% of managers. However, even in defeat, Silva proved how much of an asset he can be in fantasy football.
