Germany Announce Squad for Final Euro 2020 Qualifying Matches Against Belarus and Northern Ireland

Germany have confirmed their squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying matches with Belarus and Northern Ireland.

Die Mannschaft face two crucial clashes in their bid to reach next summer's tournament, with their fate yet to be decided going into the final round of matches despite picking up 15 points from their six matches so far.

Firstly, a home clash with Belarus awaits, with Joachim Low's side knowing victory over the struggling Group C side could confirm their place in the quadrennial competition if Northern Ireland fail to beat the Netherlands in their match. 

Even still, if both Germany and Northern Ireland win, the final day clash between the two would need to see Michael O'Neill's side overcome the Germans with an immense scoreline, to overturn the large deficit they have on goals difference in order to sneak ahead level on points.

Knowing fully well the importance of reaching Euro 2020 without the need to take part in a play-off clash, Low has named a strong lineup for the upcoming international fixtures, as revealed on their ​official Twitter account. They are as such:

Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer, Bernd Leno, Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Defenders: Emre Can, Matthias Ginter, Jonas Hector, Lukas Klostermann, Robin Koch, Nico Schulz, Niklas Stark, Jonathan Tah.

Midfielders/Attackers: Nadiem Amiri, Julian Brandt, Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Ilkay Gundogan, Kai Havertz, Joshua Kimmich, Toni Kross, Marco Reus, Sebastian Rudy, Suat Serder, Luca Waldschmidt, Timo Werner.

Germany's only defeat in the group stages so far came on home turf, as they were brushed aside 4-2 by table-toppers Netherlands at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.

Otherwise, Low has sought about changing the fortunes of his side since the miserable showing that occurred during last summer's World Cup. As a result of being knocked out at the group stage, a whole host of household names such as Thomas Muller, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels were castaway from the first-team picture, with Low seeking to refresh his squad.

A youthful, exuberant crop of German talent has since been thrust into the senior side, with Low working to start afresh with the national team, which has so far brought excitement and success on the pitch. 

The two crucial fixtures are coming up on 16 and 19 November, the first being played at Borussia-Park before traveling to Frankfurt to play at the Commerzbank-Arena.
