Victory on Saturday evening would almost certainly mean they would remain at the top of La Liga though, and they will feel they should comfortably beat a Celta Vigo side who have huge problems of their own.
Oscar Garcia takers charge of his first game with Celta, who are currently sat in the relegation zone after collecting just nine points from their opening 12 games. With this in mind a trip to Camp Nou would be the last thing they would have wanted.
Barca will be desperate to put in a performance on Saturday to ensure they remain top of the pack, ahead of Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid who are hot on their heels below them.
Here then, just for you, is the most likely team that Ernesto Valverde will select to try and get the Spanish giants back to winning ways.
Goalkeepers & Defenders
Sergi Roberto (RB) – It has been a battle between Roberto and Nelson Semedo for the right-back spot all season with both impressing at times. After a solid second half performance after coming on for Jordi Alba on Wednesday though at left-back, Roberto may just get the nod and start on his more favoured side ahead of Semedo on the right.
Gerard Pique (CB) – The 32-year-old has been an ever present in the Barcelona backline for over a decade now and has played alongside numerous partners since Carles Puyol retired in 2014. The Spaniard is a real leader at the back and a crucial part of the side still.
Clement Lenglet (CB) – The French international has enjoyed a reasonably good start to his second season at Barca, with his partnership growing with Pique each week. With Samuel Umtiti struggling with injuries, Lenglet will want to really nail down his position.
Junior Firpo (LB) – With Alba withdrawn at halftime against Slavia Prague because of a hamstring injury, 23-year-old Firpo could be in line to make his fifth appearance in for Barca in La Liga on Saturday against Celta Vigo.
Frenkie de Jong (CM) – After signing from Ajax in the summer with a huge amount of hype, there was pressure on De Jong to take his game to the next level when playing for Barca. With a decent proportion of the season gone, it is fair to say he has done just this, with the midfielder being selected by manager Valverde more times than any other player.
Arthur (CM) – Brazilian midfielder Arthur has been a regular starter in La Liga this term, offering an attacking threat from a deep position. The 23-year-old has struck twice in seven appearances and will need to keep this going if he is to keep Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic out of the team.
Lionel Messi (RW) – Words cannot do this genius justice. After missing the start of the season with injury, he has come back fit and firing in recent months, netting five goals and recording a further four assists in six La Liga games this term. The Argentine is the world’s best and will cause the Celta Vigo backline all sorts of problems on Saturday.
Antoine Griezmann (ST) – With Luis Suarez out injured, it is likely Griezmann will play in a central position this weekend. With four goals and three assists since his move from title rivals Atletico Madrid in the summer, the World Cup winner will look to add to this strong start in the coming weeks.
Ansu Fati (LW) – At just 17-years-old, Fati has been a real revelation this campaign since breaking through, with the Spaniard adding flair and pace in attacking areas. While he is still very raw, the youngster is a real talent and is set to be a regular in the Barcelona team for years to come.
