Quique Sanchez Flores' Job Already Under Threat as Watford's Poor Form Continues

Pressure is already building on Quique Sanchez Flores at ​Watford just two months after returning to the helm at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets' fortunes have not improved under the Spaniard as they have remained rock bottom of the ​Premier League since his arrival, and are without a league win this season.

According to the ​Daily Ma​il, tensions are mounting within the dressing room and the club's owners are growing concerned, while players are doubtful that the former ​Real Madrid right-back is the man to turn their fortunes around.

The owners, the Pozzo family, are infamously trigger happy with hiring and firing managers, sacking Flores within a year of him taking over previously, despite a comfortable mid-table finish in the 2015/16 season.

Flores rejoined ​Watford at the beginning of September after the Hornets sacked Javi Gracia, who led them to the FA Cup final last season, but a 6-0 drubbing against ​Manchester City there and a winless start to this season meant that he was sacked.

Flores' only win has come over ​Swansea in the Carabao Cup, and this reign did start with an encouraging result in the form of a comeback from two goals down to draw against visiting ​Arsenal. But the result was quickly followed by an 8-0 annihilation away at ​​City.

A brief return to solidity returned when Watford drew against ​Sheffield United, ​Tottenham and ​Bournemouth, but have since lost their last two to ​Everton in the Carabao Cup and ​Chelsea in the league.

Watford will be desperate to rectify this when they face fellow strugglers ​Norwich on Friday at Carrow Road in a ​crucial clash.

The Canaries and the Hornets sit 19th and 20th respectively and will be hoping to catch and already disappearing mid-table.

Sanchez Flores' side are already six points away from safety, while Daniel Farke's men perch precariously just two points above them.
