AS Roma vs AC Milan: Gennaro Gattuso's Best Available Rossoneri Lineup

The win over Napoli midweek in the Coppa Italia was a much needed boost for confidence for Gattuso and his men, and with new signing Krzysztof Piatek impressing in his first start, Milan will be buoyed their trip to the capital to face Roma.

Here is how the Rossoneri may lineup against Roma in Sunday's league game.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK) - Due to Pepe Reina's injury, there is no doubt that Donnarumma will start this game.

Davide Calabria (RB) - Although Calabria didn't feature against Napoli in the Coppa Italia, he is Gattuso's best option for right-back and should play the full 90 minutes again on Sunday.

Mateo Musacchio (CB) - Musacchio has played Milan's last three games and has consistently impressed alongside Romagnoli.

Alessio Romagnoli (CB) - Milan's captain will be leading the line against Roma.

Diego Laxalt (LB) - Although traditionally a left-midfielder, Laxalt has played well when placed in the left-back role and is likely to start in that role again on Sunday.

2. Midfielders

Lucas Paquetá (CM) - The young Brazillian's confidence and flair has impressed fans so far, and his creativity will be imperative if Milan are to win in Rome.

Tiemoué Bakayoko (DM) - Chelsea fans wouldn't be able to recognise Bakayoko, as he is an incredibly important part of Milan's midfielder and has performed much better than many pundits expected.

Franck Kessié (CM) - The third part of Milan's midfield three, he forms a strong partnership with Bakayoko as they control possession and slow down play in the midfield.

3. Forwards

Suso (RW) - Suso has had a hand in 13 goals this season, with five goals and eight assists in all competitions, and his partnership with Piatek could be something to behold.

Krzysztof Piatek (CF) - What more can be said by this 23-year-old Polish striker? With an astonishing 22 goals in 24 games in all competitions so far this season, it's fair to say that Piatek is one of Europe's in-form players.

Hakan Calhanoglu (LW) - 11 goals and assists this season means Piatek will be getting good service from both his forward partners, making it likely that he can get himself on the scoresheet.
