Barcelona vs Valencia: Ernesto Valverde's Best Available Blaugrana Lineup

Barcelona are back in league action on Saturday afternoon, as they host Valencia at Camp Nou.

The Blaugrana are back home just three days after their last game there, which was a night to remember in the Copa del Rey quarter-final. 2-0 down from the first leg, Barca smashed Sevilla 6-1 on Wednesday night to qualify for the semi-finals.

Ernesto Valverde could see the return of Ousmane Dembele back from injury, though he remains a doubt. Valverde is still without Rafinha and Samuel Umtiti, who are sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Here's a look at the best potential Barcelona lineup to face Valencia.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (GK) - Barca's German number one has played every single minute of their La Liga season, making 27 appearances across all competitions. Ter Stegen has kept six clean sheets in his last eight league games, a remarkable achievement for him.

Sergi Roberto (RB) - Roberto is likely to start on Saturday. The 26-year-old will make his 23rd appearances of the campaign, and will hope to grab his sixth assist from right-back.

Clement Lenglet (CB) - Lenglet will form the centre back partnership as per usual, having played very well this season. Since joining for €36m from Sevilla, he has played 27 times.

Gerard Pique (CB) - Partnering Lenglet is the experienced Pique, who has been at the heart of the Blaugrana defence for years now. The 31-year-old Spaniard has five goals in 29 appearances this season, and has been has as consistent as always.

Jordi Alba (LB) - Alba will likely be deployed at left back as he has been so often this season. The Spaniard has made 30 appearances this season, and is second in Barca's assists charts this season with an outstanding 14 assists.

2. Midfielders

Ivan Rakitic (CM) - The Croatian midfield maestro has played almost every game this season, having made 31 appearances in midfield. Rakitic has four goals and six assists to his name so far, though is one of two Barca players to have been dismissed this season alongside Umtiti.

Sergio Busquets (CM) - As he always does, Busquets will play at the very heart of the Blaugrana midfield. The 30-year-old is still going as strong as ever, having made 31 appearances for Barcelona this season.

Arthur (CM) - The newest addition to Barcelona's midfield since joining from Gremio in the summer, Arthur has excelled at the Camp Nou. Battling with Arturo Vidal for a starting place, the Brazilian has managed 25 appearances this season, and looks likely to play on Saturday.

3. Forwards

Lionel Messi (RW) - What's remarkable is that Lionel Messi just seems to be getting better and better. The Argentine magician's stats are absolutely incredible as always, with his 27 goals and 17 assists this season putting him first for most goals and most assists this season.

Luis Suarez (ST) - Although injury problems have hampered his season at times, Suarez remains in red-hot form as Barca's striker. The Uruguayan frontman has an impressive 16 goals and eight assists in 30 games this season - still going strong at 32 years old.

Philippe Coutinho (LW) - Although his numbers are admittedly inferior to his attacking counterparts, Coutinho remains a key part of Barcelona's side. The Brazilian has played 30 times this season, scoring eight goals and getting five assists.
