5. Rafa Benitez Rules Out Jonjo Shelvey Move After West Ham & Fulham Links

Rafa Benitez has decried any rumours linking Jonjo Shelvey with a move away from St James' Park this window, following interest from West Ham and Fulham.

The Cottagers were hoping to tempt Newcastle into a deal by throwing Tom Cairney on the table in a swap deal scenario, aware of the Spaniard's affinity for the player, but as quoted by the Mirror, Benitez felled this with one fell swoop.

When probed on whether he could guarantee Shelvey's future was on Tyneside, the 58-year-old tactician proclaimed: “Yes. The idea is to keep as much as we can."

Well, that's that then. Case closed.

4. Everton Put £40m Price Tag on PSG Target Idrissa Gueye

With Adrien Rabiot departing Paris this month with stereotypical Parisian grace, Paris Saint-Germain are in need of a replacement. And they'd set their eyes on Idrissa Gueye as one of these potential successors.

But, not on Everton's watch they didn't. No, because, as per reports in France, as detailed by the Mirror, the Toffees immediately wacked a whopping £40m price tag on the 29-year-old Senegalese international, in an attempt to dissuade the moneyed Ligue 1 side.

We'll see how that goes. For what it's worth, the French champions are also looking into Napoli's Allan and Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl, in an attempt to find value. If they can't, they may well succumb to Everton's wishes, with Gueye all too willing to uproot.

3. Watford Submit Bid for Bordeaux Striker Francois Kamano

Watford are scouring Ligue 1 for strikeforce additions, and seem to have settled on two faces to assuage their goalscoring woes. The first, and their preferred option, is Francois Kamano, who has eight league goals for Bordeaux this season.

According to French football journalist Jeremy Smith, the Hornets have duly submitted a bid of between €15m and €17m for the Guinean, though Les Girondins value the striker closer to €25m. Aha! But the Premier League outfit have thought of this, and have thus courted Guingamp's Marcus Thuram as a backup.

2. Chicharito Agrees Terms With Valencia Though January Move Unlikely

West Ham striker Javier Hernandez has apparently already agreed terms with Valencia over his potential pay package in Spain, in his hopes of attaining a move away from the London Stadium.

However, as reported by the Mirror, despite Hernandez's best wishes, his move is unlikely to completed this January, with the Hammers keen to recoup a fee of around £12m for the man they spent £16m on in July 2017, and the Spanish side only in the market for loan moves as it stands.

Poor little pea.

1. Juventus Looking into Emerson Palmieri as Leonardo Spinazzola Replacement

Juventus are considering an approach for Chelsea left back/winger Emerson Palmieri, should Leonardo Spinazzola complete a loan move to Bologna.

As reported by the Italian branch of Goal, the Serie A champions are eager to keep Spinazzola, who made his debut in their last clash, though understand his need for gametime following a serious knee injury. If he was to temporarily up sticks, then the Old Lady have identified the former Roma man as an ideal short-term replacement.

The Brazilian born Italy international has barely figured for the Blues since his €20m this time last year, and is understandably keen on the relocation.
