4 Key Battles Which Could Decide Tottenham's Premier League Clash With Man Utd on Sunday

Tottenham host Manchester United in the standout game of this weekend's Premier League fixtures.

The two sides are separated by ten points, with Spurs sitting in third six points off leaders Liverpool. They have lost just one of their last seven league games, as they look to continue their fine form since the turn of the New Year.

United are also eager to continue their strong form, as the Red Devils have won four out of four league games under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

1. Harry Kane vs David de Gea

As usual for Tottenham, talisman Harry Kane will be their biggest threat on Sunday. The Englishman has scored a remarkable 20 goals in 30 games this season, and is currently joint first in the Premier League Golden Boot race.

Aiming to stop him at Wembley will be David de Gea, who has played every minute of Manchester United's Premier League campaign this season. However the Spaniard has struggled to keep his opponents out, with just one clean sheet in his last eight league games.

2. Moussa Sissoko vs Paul Pogba

Sunday's midfield battle will be a very interesting one, and it could just be decisive. For Spurs, Moussa Sissoko will hope to continue his outstanding recent form and control the game in favour of Tottenham.

On the opposite side will be Paul Pogba, a man who has been completely transformed under Solskjaer. The World Cup winner has four goals and three assists in his last four outings, and will be eager to build on from his excellent form with a big performance at Wembley.

3. Christian Eriksen vs Phil Jones

Eriksen will play just behind Kane on Sunday, and his effect on the game should not be ignored. The Dane is a key asset to Mauricio Pochettino's side, and has six goals and nine assists to his name this season.

If United want to keep Tottenham's attack quiet, then Phil Jones will need to put in a strong performance. With Eric Bailly serving a three-match suspension and defensive options limited, Jones is likely to start again for the Red Devils, and will certainly need to perform well.

4. Toby Alderweireld vs Marcus Rashford

As Tottenham search for four clean sheets out of four in 2019, all eyes will be on centre-back Toby Alderweireld to keep their defence tight. The Belgian could have signed for United amid  a long transfer saga, and he'll be hoping to beat the team who wanted him so desperately.

Alderweireld will face a big task on Sunday, as he must contain United winger Marcus Rashford. The Englishman is in excellent form, with four goals and five assists in his previous eight league games. Both will need to be at their very best to triumph at Wembley.
