We are now deep into the January transfer window, and the lunacy has certainly begun. Philippe Coutinho to Manchester United!?!?! Willian is worth £50m!?!?! Whether it's the clubs themselves who've gone nuts, or the merchants peddling them, that's what January does.
So, here's some more rumours for you, to satiate your burning desire for all things gossip.
6. Arsenal Agree Ever Banega Contract, But Can't Complete January Transfer
Arsenal have apparently ceded to the contractual demands of long-time target Ever Banega, with an offer of €7m a year waiting for him in north London.
But it is waiting for him, because the Gunners themselves can't afford to bring him to the Emirates just yet. No, Unai Emery's side will have to wait until the summer for the 30-year-old Argentine to join their ranks, and it will still be his decision as to whether he does so, as per Estadio Deportivo .
Quality negotiating as always from Arsenal.
5. David Luiz Seeking Seminal Benfica Return
Chelsea defender David Luiz is seeking a seminal return to Benfica at the end of this season, with his contract set to expire.
According to Fox Sports, as relayed by Portuguese publication O Jogo, the Brazilian has garnered considerable interest from Luiz Felipe Scolari's Palmeiras side in his native land, but his preferred move is the one back to Portugal's most successful club.
Luiz's teammates, and indeed his coach, have continuously uttered their desire for the club to keep the 31-year-old, but as it stands they remain steadfast in their desire to reward no one above the age of 30 with anything other than a one-year deal. Charming.
4. Leicester City Enter Race for Hull City's Jarrod Bowen
It's the big one. The one you've all been waiting for, and it seems like Jarrod Bowen to Leicester City is a goer. I repeat IS A GOER.
Yes, according to the Sun, the Foxes have now stepped into the hunt for the 22-year-old Hull winger, who's bagged 11 goals for the Championship side so far this season. Tottenham and Everton are the other members of that pack, who are all chasing the £20m target.
3. Martin Dubravka Focused on Newcastle Despite Juventus Interest
In a series of developments that I've cleary come in late on, Martin Dubravka has recently had to come out in public to bat away his links with JUVENTUS (?!?!?).
In any case, with that bombshell digested, the somewhat impressive 29-year-old keeper has come out all the same, as reports from the Daily Star explain.
The Slovakian proclaimed: “I know a lot of people are asking me if I will stay or not but I am not thinking about any other club. I am very happy here.
"For me, I am just focused 100 per cent on doing my job for Newcastle United and making sure we stay in the Premier League.”
Who knows why, but it seems like he's staying put. What a ridiculous turn of events.
2. Alvaro Morata Could Be Barcelona-Bound If Denis Suarez Joins Arsenal
In another seemingly ridiculous development, Chelsea flop Alvaro Morata could be headed to Barcelona, provided Arsenal's deal with Denis Suarez is sewn up.
According to SPORT, La Blaugrana have entered the race to sign of the out-of-favour forward, alongside Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, the latter of which have confirmed their interest. However, the Spanish champions will only proceed if the Gunners bow to their fee desires for the purchase of Suarez, with the north Londoners preferring a loan at the moment.
Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that Morata's potential departure, after a fraught time in west London, would prompt the Blues to dip back into the striker market.
The Italian declared: ”Of course if Morata will go to another club we will need a replacement. It’s normal at the moment Morata is here so I think he has to think only to play because at the moment in Europe there are 300 players involved in the market."
1. Man Utd Entertaining Paul Pogba-Douglas Costa Swap Deal
Another stop on the Paul Pogba merry-go-round, courtesty of, surprise surprise, Tuttosport. As detailed by Sky Sports, the Turin-based publication are still grinding that Paul Pogba return axe for all it's worth.
This time, they are reporting that Manchester United could be open to letting the Frenchman go, as long as they receive Brazilian winger Douglas Costa in return. But, as they explain that I Bianconeri are reticent to allow Costa to leave, and as far as we can gather United aren't too enamoured with the prospect of their record transfer jumping ship either, this could be a tricky one to uphold.
We'll find out soon enough, though.
