Picking the Best Potential Napoli Lineup to face SPAL in Serie A on Saturday

Napoli will look to cut the lead on Serie A leaders Juventus to five points when they take on SPAL on Saturday.

A slow start aside, Carlo Ancelotti's have done well in Italy's top flight so far this season, winning 12 of their 16 league matches.

Here's their potential lineup for Saturday's game.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

David Ospina (GK) - The former Arsenal goalie has a mistake in him but is trusted as Napoli's first choice shot stopper.

Kevin Malcuit (RB) - The right back was brilliant against Cagliari and should retain his spot.

Kalidou Koulibaly (CB) - The Senegal international is regarded as one of the brightest defenders in Europe and has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Raul Albiol (CB) - The Spaniard has formed a good partnership with Koulibaly and is set to feature again at centre back.

Faouzi Ghoulam (LB) - The 27-year-old has performed well since his return from injury, grabbing two assists in the 4-0 win over Frosinone.

2. Midfielders

Jose Callejon (RM) - Callejon hasn't found his shooting boots yet this season but has registered five Serie A assists.

Allan (CM) - The Brazilian is Napoli's rock in central midfield. He's an astute passer and isn't shy in the tackle.

Marek Hamsik (CM) - Hamsik provides attacking flair from central midfield but is yet to contribute a goal or an assist in the league this season.

Fabian Ruiz (LM) - The 22-year-old has been a strong performer since his summer switch from Real Betis, bagging three goals in eight league games.

Lorenzo Insigne (CAM) - Insigne will provide support for striker Dries Mertens but could operate from a deeper position on Saturday.

3. Forward

Dries Mertens (ST) - Despite Arkadiusz Milik scoring against Cagliari, Ancelotti may opt to keep the Poland international on the bench. That would mean another start for Dries Mertens, who has seven goals and four assists in 15 Serie A games this season.
