PSV Eindhoven Make Contact With Bayern Winger Arjen Robben Over Eredivisie Return

PSV Eindhoven manager Mark van Bommel has spoken to Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben about a return to the Eredivisie side when he leaves Bayern at the end of the season.
Robben recently confirmed that he would be leaving the club next summer, but there has yet to be any confirmation of his next move. The Dutch international has been linked with a return to his native Netherlands, but has suggested that he could retire if he does not receive the right offer.
In an interview with Dutch outlet Omroep Brabant, PSV executive Toon Gerbrands confirmed van Bommel has contacted Robben about a potential return to the side with whom Robben spent two years before his move to Chelsea in 2004.
He said: "There has been contact. Mark [Van Bommel], who played with Arjen, sent him a message.
"It is, of course, up to Arjen to make the decision."
Robben and van Bommel were teammates on several occasions before van Bommel's retirement. They first played together at PSV, but also reunited at Bayern and for the Dutch national team.
In his two years with PSV, Robben made 70 appearances, racking up 21 goals and 17 assists. His impressive form earned him an expensive move to Chelsea, giving a 20-year-old Robben the chance to prove himself.
After three superb years in London, Robben moved to Real Madrid, but he spent just two years in Spain before moving to Bayern in 2009. He has won an enormous amount of trophies during his illustrious career, but his time in Germany has certainly been the most profitable.
Robben has helped guide Bayern to seven Bundesliga titles and even netted the winning goal as Bayern won the 2013 UEFA Champions League final against rivals Borussia Dortmund.
