Fiorentina welcome league leaders Juventus on Saturday at the Stadio Artemio Franchi as the Bianconeri will look to continue their sensational form in the Serie A.

Juventus currently sit eight points clear at the top of Serie A having won 12 of their 13 league games this season. They are the only team in Europe’s top five divisions to remain unbeaten away from home in 2018, winning 13 and drawing five.

The hosts on the other hand have only won four of their opening 13 games, an underwhelming start to the season for a team with high hopes going into the 2018/19 campaign.

Team News

Juventus will be without midfielders Emre Can and Sami Khedira. In their absence Massimiliano Allegri has opted with a midfield three of Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Bentancur which has worked extremely well for the Bianconeri.

The visitors will also be without winger Federico Bernardeschi who started the season in really impressive form. Paulo Dybala has stepped up in his absence after appearing to be frozen out by Allegri earlier this year.

The Viola will be without defender German Pezzella on Saturday as he is sidelined with a bicep injury. Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli will likely start duo Federico Chiesa and Giovanni Simeone despite their poor run of form.

Predicted Lineups

FiorentinaLafont; Milenkovic, Ceccherini, Hugo, Biraghi; Benassi, Veretout, Fernandes; Gerson, Simeone, Chiesa.
JuventusSzczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro; Cuadrado, Pjanic, Bentancur, Matuidi; Ronaldo, Dybala.

Head to Head record

Juventus have won four of the their last five games against the Viola with them easing to a 2-0 victory in their last visit to the Stadio Artemio Franchi in February 2018.

Fiorentina have not managed to keep a clean sheet in this match up in the last nine games and have won only two of their last 19 games at home against Juventus.

Recent Form

Juventus are unbeaten this season in the league and have only lost one game in all competitions, with that defeat coming against Manchester United in the Champions League. They did, however, bounce back in that competition with a 1-0 win in their last outing against Valencia.

The Bianconeri eased to a 2-0 win in their last league game against Spal, and managed to beat Milan in the San Siro the week before that.

Fiorentina have drawn five of their last games, the second longest such run in the club's history. Four of the five have ended 1-1 but they managed to break that run by earning a goalless draw away to Bologna last weekend.

The Viola are unbeaten at home this season, winning four and drawing two. They also have the joint-best defensive record at home only conceding three goals. Also keep an eye on set-pieces on Saturday as both teams lead the league in the fewest goals conceded from open play.

Here's how each team has performed in their last five fixtures:

Prediction

All the form and statistics point to a Juventus win, but it won’t come easy. The first goal will be crucial given Fiorentina’s poor attacking form, but formidable defensive displays.

Allegri won't take a chance with his team selection and this should prove too much for the hosts to handle. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in nine goals for the Bianconeri with five of them coming in his six away games, so don’t discount him getting another on Saturday.

Prediction: Fiorentina 0-2 Juventus
