Picking the Best Potential Barcelona Lineup to Face Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday

Barcelona will look to return to winning ways in La Liga when they face Villarreal on Sunday.

The Blaugrana are fresh off a 2-1 win away to PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League, a result that put them six points clear on top of Group B, with qualification for the round of 16 already confirmed. They are, however, winless in two league games and this is a run the Catalan club will look to end this weekend.

Here's a look at how Ernesto Valverde could line his team up at the Camp Nou.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (GK) - Barcelona's number one is set to retain his place in the lineup as he targets a first clean sheet in 12 La Liga matches.

Nélson Semedo (RB) - Easily becoming the club's first choice right-back and is set to make his eighth league start of the season against Villarreal.

Gerard Piqué (CB) - Piqué may have enjoyed the thrill of scoring a goal in midweek against PSV, but on Sunday it's back to the business of keeping them out.

Clement Lenglet (CB) - The former Sevilla defender looks set to deputise in the absence of the injured Samuel Umtiti.

Jordi Alba (LB) - Alba has been an ever-present in the league for Barcelona this season and is in contention to make another start against the Yellow Submarine.

2. Midfield

Sergio Busquets (DM) - Barça's long-serving anchorman is another piece of the jigsaw that just can't be left out by Valverde.

Arturo Vidal (CM) - Vidal will be keen to add to his two goals and two assists in La Liga thus far, as he starts in central midfield.

Ivan Rakitić (AM) - Rakitić made his return to the team against PSV on Wednesday and is in line to make his first league start since Barcelona's 4-3 loss to Real Betis, when he received two yellow cards in a sending off.

3. Forwards

Ousmane Dembélé (RW) - It was the 21 year-old's goal from the bench that earned Barça a point against Atlético Madrid last week. He will be keen to score another one, this time from the start.

Lionel Messi (CF) - No surprises here. Barcelona's talisman scored his sixth goal of the Champions League season in midweek and will once again lead his side this weekend.

Philippe Coutinho (LW) - Coutinho also made a return to the lineup against PSV and looks set to start as part of Barcelona's front three in the absence of striker Luis Suárez.
