Picking the Best Potential Milan Lineup to Face Genoa in Serie A on Wednesday

Milan will look to record back to back league wins for only the second time this season when they host Genoa in Serie A on Wednesday.

After a 3-2 win over Sampdoria on Sunday, the Rossoneri currently sit fifth in Italy's top flight but could move up to fourth with a win against Genoa.

Here’s a look at the best potential side Genaro Gattuso could put out for Wednesday's clash.

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK) - The 19-year-old has played every league game this season and looks certain to retain his place on Wednesday.

Ricardo Rodríguez (LB) - The Swiss is another Rossoneri regular and offers a lot to the side defensively as well as going forward in attack.

Mateo Musacchio (CB) - Still in his early days at Milan, Musacchio has played all nine league games and has been a rock solid centre back so far this season.

Alessio Romagnoli (CB) - The young Italian centre back has played very well so far this season, making eight league appearances.

Ignazio Abate (RB) - The 31-year-old has played the fewest games this season of this back four, with just five league appearances so far. However, he is a solid choice for Milan and has been great since coming into the squad recently.

2. Midfielders

Franck Kessié (CM) - The Ivorian youngster has settled nicely into life in Italy and has scored twice from central midfield this term.

Lucas Biglia (CM) - Biglia has been at the heart of the Milan midfield for every league game and has been crucial to the Rossoneri’s strong season. Although 32, he is arguably one of their most important players.

Giacomo Bonaventura (CM) - Making up the midfield will be Bonaventura, who has had a great season for the Rossoneri, scoring three goals.

3. Forwards

Hakan Çalhanoğlu (LW) - Although he is yet to register a league goal or assist, Çalhanoğlu's linkup play is great and offers a lot to Milan’s attack.

Gonzalo Higuaín (FW) - After leaving Juventus following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuaín has flourished at San Siro. He is the Rossoneri’s top goalscorer this season, with seven goals in ten appearances.

Suso (RW) - The Spaniard has been one of Milan’s standout players this season and appearing in every league game has shown his importance. Suso has had a splendid season, scoring three goals and getting an incredible seven assists.
