Picking the Best Potential Napoli Lineup to Face Udinese on Saturday

Napoli will travel to north to face Udinese on Saturday night, in a vital Serie A game for both sides.

Carlo Ancelotti may well make some changes for the trip to Udine, having one eye on their game at Paris Saint-Germain on 24 October. The trip to the French capital is an eagerly anticipated one, as Napoli sit top of their Champions League table.

The tough fixtures will not stop there, as just four days later they will return to league action as they welcome Roma to the Stadio San Paolo. Three massive games in eight days will be a big test for Ancelotti, but someone as experienced as him is expected to be able to handle it.

In anticipation of Saturday's game, here's a look at our take on the most likely side that Carlo Ancelotti will put out in Udine.

1. Goalkeepers & Defenders

Orestis Karnezis (GK) - With first-choice goalkeeper David Ospina likely to be rested for PSG, it looks Karnezis will fill in against his former club Udinese. This season he has played three league games already keeping two clean sheets.

Mario Rui (LB) - Rui seems likely to retain his place in the defence, keeping a familiar look to Ancelotti's back four. However Rui returns from suspension after receiving a red card against Juventus, the only one his team have got this season.

Kalidou Koulibaly (CB) - Having played every league match this season, it seems unlikely that Koulibaly won't feature on Saturday. He is the heart of Napoli's defence, and helps keep the unit together.

Raul Albiol (CB) - Albiol has also been a regular in Napoli's defence, playing six times in central defence. He brings experience and discipline to the side, often helping Koulibaly out.

Elseid Hysaj (RB) - Hysaj offers good defensive cover as well as an attacking option, having already got one assist this season.

2. Midfielders

Piotr Zielinski (LM) - The pacey Polish midfielder has already scored twice this season, and is growing in importance to this Napoli side. He is key in attack, and is a firm favourite of Ancelotti.

Marek Hamsik (CM) - To say Hamsik is the heart of the Napoli team is an understatement, and he will undoubtedly start in midweek. However, it would be hard to drop their captain even for a rest, as he has been a huge part of Napoli's midfield.

Allan (CM) - Another player likely to make an appearance against his former club is Allan, who played over 100 appearances for Udinese. He has started every league game this season, notching up two assists.

Jose Callejon (RM) - Another key player, Callejon has flourished in Naples since his move five years ago. This season he has got three assists, and will hope to add to that this season.

3. Forward

Lorenzo Insigne (FW) - How could Insigne not start on Saturday? He has played every game this season for Napoli, and is their top scorer with seven goals. The little Italian is the key to Napoli's goals, and it would not come as a surprise to see him add to his tally on Saturday.

Dries Mertens (FW) - Insigne has many different striker partner options, but I think Mertens will get the nod for Saturday. He is in solid form, especially after returning off the back of a successful international break with Belgium.
