3 Key Battles That Could Decide Leicester's Clash With Huddersfield on Saturday Afternoon

Leicester City host Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Foxes will be looking to return to winning ways after two consecutive defeats against Liverpool and Bournemouth. Pressure may start mounting on Claude Puel if he can't deliver a consistent string of results.

As for Huddersfield, a first win of the season is still on the agenda. David Wagner's side have only managed to pick up two points in the league and will be absolutely desperate to snatch all three points at the King Power.

Here are three key battles which could decide the outcome of the match...

3. James Maddison vs. Phillip Billing

James Maddison has hit the ground running for Leicester after joining from Norwich in the summer transfer window.

The attacking midfielder seems remarkably comfortable in his new surroundings and has been the Foxes' standout performer so far this season. He's already bagged two goals and an assist and is quickly becoming Leicester's star man.

Phillip Billing will be the man who is tasked with reducing Maddison's influence on the match.

The Dutch midfielder has been Huddersfield's standout performer so far this season and will play in a deeper role to allow his midfield partner, Aaron Mooy, to venture further forward. If he can stop Maddison, he'll give his side a chance of getting a result.

2. Jamie Vardy vs. Zanka

So far the 2018/19 season has been a difficult one for Jamie Vardy. The striker scored in Leicester's opening match against Manchester United but was sent off in their second against Wolves.

After serving his suspension, he returned to action against Bournemouth, but was unable to have any sort of influence on the match.

Huddersfield's Zanka tends to operate in the centre of a three man defence so he will be coming up against Vardy on a regular basis.

He's a relatively quick defender, so he will surely relish the chance of coming up against Vardy on Saturday.

1. Jonny Evans vs. Steve Mounie

Jonny Evans hasn't been able to feature too often for Leicester so far this season, but he will be given a chance to return to the starting XI due to Wes Morgan's suspension.

He hasn't been at his best when he has played recently, so he has to impress if he is to stand a chance of keeping his place going forward.

He'll be coming up against Steve Mounie, a man who is yet to pick up a single goal so far this season.

The big striker simply has to start scoring soon to justify his spot in the starting XI. Evans will be the man tasked with stopping him from doing so.
