Picking a Combined XI of Tottenham & Liverpool Players Ahead of Saturday's Premier League Clash

Liverpool face a trip to Wembley when they take on Tottenham on Saturday as the Premier League throws up another enticing fixture.

The Reds are currently one of three teams to have made perfect starts in the league, alongside Chelsea and Watford.

Spurs lost their first game of the season prior to the international break and will be looking to recoup the dropped points to keep pace with the top four.

Ahead of this fire-cracker fixture, here's a combined XI of players from the Premier League elite.

1. GK: Alisson

Despite his blunder during the Leicester game, Alisson gets the nod over Michel Vorm after the Brazilian's impressive start to the season.

With Hugo Lloris missing out through injury, Vorm will play instead of the Frenchman but Alisson is undeniably the superior shot stopper over his Dutch counterpart.

2. RB: Kieran Trippier

Kieran Trippier gets the nod ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold in this combined XI. The gallivanting right back has continued his great form from the World Cup earlier in the summer and has put in more solid displays for the north Londoners.

Alexander-Arnold is still raw, beginning his second full season with the Reds, but his talent is undeniable.

3. CB: Jan Vertonghen

Jan Vertonghen has been around the block a few times and his experience makes him an easy choice in the centre back slot.

Alderweireld and Gomez should be given honourable mentions as their defensive attributes are also of the highest quality.

4. CB: Virgil van Dijk

In the other centre-back spot is Virgil van Dijk. The 27-year-old has been a rock at the heart of the Liverpool defence since his arrival in January this year.

Also, the way in which the defender conducts himself on the pitch makes him a reliable choice.

5. LB: Andrew Robertson

The rise of Andrew Robertson has been phenomenal. The recently appointed Scotland captain deserves his place in this combined XI ahead of Ben Davies and Danny Rose.

At Liverpool his full potential is likely to be unlocked and Klopp seems to favour the left back's attacking style of play, which is as good as his defending.

6. RM: Lucas Moura

It's difficult to leave out Lucas Moura after his impressive displays since the start of the season.

The winger seems to be playing with a lot more confidence under Mauricio Pochettino and the system the Argentine plays suits the Brazilian down to the ground.

7. CM: James Milner

The veteran midfielder has shown since the start of the season that he still is a top quality player.

Milner has been an ever-present figure in a Liverpool side full of talent. Klopp also seems to favour him over new signings Naby Keita and Fabinho, no doubt a testament to Milner's dedication to the team.

8. CM: Christian Eriksen

Bought for what was a steal at £12m back in 2013, the 26-year-old playmaker is an easy choice in this team.

His performances for Spurs since his move from Ajax have been nothing short of brilliant and after scoring two goals in the international break he will look to bring that form back to his club.

9. LM: Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane's exploits since the start of this season make him a simple choice in this team.

Four goals in as many games has put him as the joint top goalscorer this season and his performances have been of a good quality to boot.

10. ST: Harry Kane

England captain Harry Kane gets the nod ahead of Roberto Firmino as the striking option.

The 26-year-old finally broke his August goal curse this season and has performed to a good standard so far, netting two strikes in the first four games.

11. ST: Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah completes the team and while he may not have started the season in the same sparkling form as last term, his performances have been second to none.

The talismanic Egyptian has managed two goals and an assist in four games this season during Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season.
