Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Stoke City midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, for a fee of £12m.

The Reds have been linked with a number of attacking targets in recent weeks, with Lyon forward Nabil Fekir said to be their number one target. A move for Shaqiri may seem more appealing though, given that the Swiss international has a release clause of just £12m.

A move away from the club seems imminent, with Shaqiri saying effectively guaranteeing his exit from the club in an interview after the clubs relegation; "
“I would love to stay in England, but I do not want to rule anything out.
Both clubs may potentially face further competition for his services though, with Tottenham Hotspur also reportedly interested in signing the wantaway Stoke star.
Shaqiri made a total of 36 Premier League appearances during the 2017/18 season, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists.
