Their first season in the top flight since 1972 is nearly at an end but - with three points currently separating them from 18th-placed Southampton with just three games to go - Huddersfield can soon start planning for another season in the Premier League.
Most of the Terriers' influential players are tied down to the club for at least another two years, although there are still 11 players who have a year or less remaining on their current deals.
Here's a look at exactly when every first team player, including those currently on loan, is due to be out of contract:
1. Expiring 30th June 2018
Jonas Lössl (GK) - The Denmark international, who has made 35 league starts for the club, arrived from Bundesliga side Mainz in June and will sign for the Terriers on a permanent deal in the summer.
Robert Green (GK) - The 38-year-old signed from Leeds United in the summer on a one-year contract with the option of a further year's extension. The veteran has made just a single appearance for the club in the League Cup, and could well leave at the end of the season.
Terence Kongolo (CB) - The Dutch centre back has made just eight Premier League starts since he arrived on loan from Monaco in January and will return to his parent club in the summer.
Florent Hadergjonaj (RB) - The Swiss right-back arrived on loan from Bundesliga outfit Ingolstadt in August and is expected to sign for the Terriers on a three-year contract on the 1 July.
Dean Whitehead (CM) - The 26-year-old has been at the club since 2015 but has made just one start all season and looks likely to depart on a free in the summer.
2. Expiring 30th June 2019
Joel Coleman (GK) - The 22-year-old put pen to a paper on an improved contact in the summer. He has made four appearances for the club this season, two in the FA Cup and two in the League Cup. Lossl's permanent arrival could push him out.
Ryan Schofield (GK) - The 18-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the Terriers this season but is one for the future.
Michael Hefele (CB) - The German centre back signed a contract extension before the start of the season. However, he has made a total of just six appearances across all competitions this season.
Danny Williams (CDM) - Williams joined on a free in the summer having rejected a new contract offer from Reading. The 29-year-old had made 20 league appearances for Huddersfield before his season was cut short in March, when he was ruled out for the rest of the season with a fracture to his distal fibula.
Sean Scannell (RW) - The 27-year-old was loaned out to Championship strugglers Burton Albion at the start of the season but returned in January due to a groin injury. Scannell could well leave the John Smith's Stadium at the end of the current campaign.
Laurent Depoitre (CF) - Depoitre signed from Porto in the summer for an undisclosed club record fee. The striker has scored five goals in his 32 appearances across all competitions.
3. Expiring 30th June 2020

Scott Malone (LB) - Malone signed from Fulham in the summer but has struggled to cement a starting spot with just 12 league starts so far this year.

Tom Smith (RB) - The 26-year-old has been at the club since 2013 and signed a new contract in August 2016. This season, he has made 22 league appearances.

Philip Billing (CM) - The 21-year-old Danish youth international has been at the club since 2014. He has only made seven Premier League starts so far this campaign and could leave in the summer.
Jonathan Hogg (CM) - Hogg has been a Huddersfield player since he joined from Watford in 2013. The 29-year-old has made 30 appearances for the club across all competitions this season.
