Dates to Remember: When Every Newcastle Player's Contract Is Due to Expire

A late surge from Newcastle has transformed them from Premier League relegation contenders to candidates for a top ten finish.

Credit should be given to manager Rafa Benitez, who has transformed Newcastle from a side merely seeking to survival into a team now thriving at the back end of this Premier League season, despite very limited resources.

Shrewd loan signings such as Kenedy and Martin Dubravka have both been rousing successes, though the club's future transfer policy remains firmly in limbo as the ongoing saga of the club's ownership rattles on.

With this in mind, Here's a look at exactly when every Newcastle player's contract expires...

1. Expiring 30th June 2018

Martin Dubravka (GK) - Signed on loan from Sparta Prague in January for the remainder of the season, Dubravka has impressed in his short time at the Magpies, with the club likely to exert the option to buy clause included in his contract should finances allow.

Curtis Good (DF) - Good has barely featured for the Magpies in six injury ridden years at the club. He is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

Islam Slimani (ST) - Joined on loan from Leicester City in the January transfer window. Newcastle will be in the market for another striker, with Slimani failing to make an impression at the club following a string of injury problems.

Kenedy (MF) - A loanee from Chelsea, Kenedy has helped inspire Newcastle's run up the Premier League table. The club and fans will be keen to keep him, but the Magpies could be priced out of a permanent switch.

Jesus Gamez (DF) - Managing just seven league appearances in nearly two seasons at the club, left back Jesus Gamez could be let go this summer to make room for new recruits.

Massadio Haïdara (DF) - Similarly to Gamez, Haidara has not made a league appearance for the Magpies this season. According to reports, neither player has been offered a new deal.

2. Expiring 30th June 2019

Mohamed Diame (MF) - Diame has established a strong midfield partnership with Jonjo Shelvey over recent weeks, proving invaluable to the Magpies recent resurgence. Unless Newcastle spend in the summer, Diame will expect to keep his place in the side.

Jack Colback* (MF) - Shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest after falling out of favour under Rafa Benitez, Colback is expected to leave the club in the summer to free up funds for new signings.

3. Expiring 30th June 2020

Chancel Mbemba (DF) -  According to reports, Mbemba could be allowed to leave the club this summer after barely featuring for the club this season.

Javier Manquillo (DF) - Has not made a Premier League start since January and has barely featured during Newcastle's late run of form. Could be kept on as a squad player if he is happy with his reduced playing time.

Karl Darlow (GK) - The 27-year-old could be kept on as a useful understudy to fellow keepers Rob Elliot and Martin Dubravka, though he may find action in the first team restricted.

Rob Elliot (GK) - Elliot will believe he is good enough for a starting place at St James' Park, but with competition from Dubravka and Darlow, he may opt to seek more regular football elsewhere.

Joselu (ST) - Joselu has found himself out of the first team picture in recent weeks, having countributed just four league goals this season. Newcastle may need to recruit a more prolific forward if they aim to kick on in the coming seasons.

Aleksandar Mitrović* (ST) - Mitrovic is finally thriving in England, with his loan spell at Fulham proving to be a great success. 12 goals in 16 Championship appearances could see the forward play his way back into contention at St James' Park, should he wish to return.

Adam Armstrong* (ST) - Having joined League One side Blackburn Rovers in January, Armstrong has scored nine times, helping Rovers secure promotion back to the Championship. The 21-year-old could still have a future with the Magpies given his relatively young age.

4. Expiring 30th June 2021

DeAndre Yedlin (DF) - Yedlin has held down his spot at right back in the starting lineup with some impressive performances. Expected to stay on for years to come.

Ciaran Clark (DF) - Dropped from the starting lineup after the good form of Florian Lejeune and Jamaal Lascelles, Clark is now seen as a rotational option. A useful squad player for the Magpies.

Matt Ritchie (MF) - Integral to Newcastle's recent purple patch, Ritchie's improvement can be highlighted by a top drawer performance in the home victory against Arsenal.

Jonjo Shelvey (MF) - Has bossed Newcastle's midfield over recent months, with talk of a return to the England setup in the offing. Could become a real dressing room leader for the Magpies.

Isaac Hayden (MF) - A regular starter at the beginning of the season, Hayden has found himself on the fringes of the first-team over recent months. Unlikely to move on despite a period of indifferent form.

Henri Saivet* (MF) - Made just one league appearance for Newcastle this season, scoring a free kick. Didn't do enough to warrant continued selection however, and could be sold this summer after being shipped out on loan to Sivasspor in January.

Christian Atsu (MF) - Currently sidelined, Atsu had proven to be an exciting player for Newcastle this season until injury struck. Injecting pace and intensity to the Magpies attacks, Atsu remains a valuable asset to the club.

Ronaldo Aarons* (MF) - On loan in Italy with Hellas Verona, Aarons will aim to battle for a regular place at Newcastle if allowed the opportunity to return.

Dwight Gayle (ST) - A prolific goalscorer at Championship level, Gayle has just five goals to his name in the Premier League this season. Could be looking over his shoulder should new recruits come in.

Ayoze Perez (ST) - Like Gayle, Perez has also struggled for goals this season. Has proved to be a valuable asset recently however with his continued high work rate and intricate link up play.

5. Expiring 30th June 2022

Paul Dummett (DF) - At the club since the age of nine, Dummett has continued to be a loyal servant at left back for the Magpies, when fit and available.

Florian Lejeune (DF) - After a rocky start to his Newcastle career, Lejeune has started to establish a solid partnership with Jamaal Lascelles in central defence.

Mikel Merino (MF) - Signed a five-year deal only in October but has been notably absent from match day squads over recent weeks. Speculation remains rife over a possible summer switch to Athletic Bilbao.

6. Expiring 30th June 2023

Jamaal Lascelles (DF) - Speculation has linked Lascelles with a move to Chelsea in the summer, despite the substantial length remaining on his contract. A prized asset that Newcastle will be desperate to keep hold of.
