Southampton's defence will be unchanged from the 0-0 home draw against fellow strugglers Stoke last weekend. Maya Yoshida remains ruled out so the centre back partnership will be Jack Stephens and Wesley Hoedt.

Ryan Bertrand will start at left back with the right back role going to Cédric Soares. 21-year-old Jan Bednarek was on the bench last week as he awaits his Premier League debut.

Southampton are likely to name five in midfield for this game. Oriol Romeu and Mario Lemina are set to play in the defensive midfield roles.

Further forward, Sofiane Boufal is set to come into the team for Josh Sims, who made his first Premier League start against Stoke. Nathan Redmond will continue on the left with Dušan Tadić in behind the main striker.

Shane Long could well come into the Southampton side in place of Guido Carrillo who is still yet to score his first goal for the Saints. Long's only goal so far this season came in January in a home defeat to Crystal Palace.

Top scorer Charlie Austin remains out with a hamstring injury.
