3 Key Battles That Could Decide AC Milan vs Roma on Sunday

7th placed Milan host 3rd placed Roma on Sunday, with the hosts looking to beat Roma, who come into the game on the back of a disappointing defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in midweek.

Milan will be chasing their sixth win in 7 games, a string of form that has seen them climb up the table and make European qualification a genuine possibility after a dreadful start to their campaign.

This will be a heated battle between the two Italian giants and will likely be decided on the outcome of some individual battles on the day.

Here's 3 key battles that could decide the tantalising Serie A tie on Sunday:

3. Suso vs Aleksandar Kolarov

Aleskandar Kolarov will have a tough job keeping tabs on Suso, as the tricky Spaniard is Milan's top scorer this season and will likely venture forward often again.

Kolarov, on the other hand, has been arguably Roma's best defender this season and despite conceding two goals in midweek, will be more than up for the challenge.

If Kolarov can keep the former Liverpool man in his pocket, there won't be too much else needed for Roma to take all three points.

2. Leonardo Bonucci vs Edin Dzeko

This pair have come up against each other many times over the years, with Bonucci's time at Juventus providing many clashes at the top end of the Serie A table.

Dzeko has put away 11 goals this season so far, nearly double that or Milan's top scorer Suso.

The Bosnian is also ever so slightly taller than Bonucci and that could give him the edge in a game that is surely going to have a lot of aerial contests.

1. Ricardo Rodriguez vs Cengiz Under

Cengiz Under is absolutely tearing it up for Roma at the moment, and Milan left-back will have a real job keeping the 20-year-old Turkish midfielder in check.

It's likely that Under will keep either Diego Perotti or Stephan El Shaarawy out of the side for the time being as he's been completely outplaying the opposition at times.

If he can emulate that form against Milan it's likely that his individual skill could lead to a goal or two in the process.
