The Hornets are winless in their last five, losing four of those matches. After their bright start to the season, rising as high as fourth at one point, they have fallen by the wayside, perhaps due to the fact that the club was dogged by speculation that Marco Silva would leave for Everton.
Here's who the Portuguese could pick at the weekend:
Ever-present this season, Heurelho Gomes keeps his place in goal.
Marco Silva will keep faith with the same three-man defence he has used for much of this season, despite last week's 4-1 thrashing by Huddersfield. Miguel Britos is still out with a foot injury.
Sebastian Prodl, Christian Kabasele and Adrian Mariappa will have the task of marshalling Glenn Murray and Pascal Gross on Saturday.
Dutchman Daryl Janmaat and Jose Holebas are likely to keep their places on the flanks, with Marvin Zeegelaar suspended from his red card two weeks ago at Burnley.
Last week's goalscorer Abdoulaye Doucoure is suspended after picking up a late booking against the Terriers, so Roberto Pereyra could be asked to deputise, with the combative Etienne Capoue alongside him.
After Troy Deeney's appeal against his three-match ban for last week's red card failed, Marco Silva will be without his captain for the trip to the Seagulls. Summer signing Andre Gray could step in, with Brazilian starlet Richarlison on the wing.
Andre Carrillo started last week's defeat and should keep his place, with Stefano Okaka and Isaac Success both on the injury list.
