Barcelona will look to continue their unbeaten start to the La Liga season with a result at Villarreal on Sunday night.
Here's their best potential eleven for the trip to Estadio de la Cerámica:
Goalkeeper
- Ter Stegen1
The German sat out the meaningless Champions League game in midweek, so will return for the game against a talented Villarreal side.
Defence
- S. Roberto20
- Piqué3
- Vermaelen25
- Jordi Alba18
Barca will be forced to partner Thomas Vermaelen with Gerard Pique after a string of long term injuries to almost all of their first choice centre backs, whilst Sergi Roberto is likely to return after being benched for the European outing with Sporting CP on Tuesday night.
Jordi Alba was also on the bench on Tuesday but will be needed to deal with Villarreal's crafty attack and bombing forward to join his team's attacks.
Midfield
- Busquets5
- Paulinho15
- Rakitic4
Sergio Busquets is likely to slot back into defensive midfield after being benched for the Sporting CP game. Andres Iniesta missed Tuesday's game with injury and looks doubtful for Sunday's match, so the reformed Paulinho looks set to partner Ivan Rakiitic in midfield.
Denis Suarez could be considered, but Ernesto Valverde may focus on adding more to his front line after throwing away four points in their last two league games.
Forwards
- Messi10
- Suárez9
- Deulofeu16
Some things are guaranteed in life. Death, taxes, and a fit Lionel Messi joining Luis Suarez up front for a tough La Liga game.
Despite coming under some criticism for not being up to par, Gerard Deulofeu may be given a chance to prove a point to his manager and critics with a surprise start as Barca anxiously await the return of Ousmane Dembele.
