Jermaine Jenas has labelled Tottenham full-back Serge Aurier a 'liability' after almost getting himself sent off against APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Ivorian defender might have seen red after stamping into a challenge, which came when Tottenham were 3-0 up and cruising, and former Spurs star Jenas reckons it's only a matter of time before he costs his team.
Speaking in the aftermath of the game said, as quoted by HITC: "He’s a weird one. He does things in a game which are brilliant, but he has this other side to his game where he does mad things. He’s becoming a liability."
Jenas is not wrong; Aurier certainly has ability - as highlighted by his assist for Fernando Llorente's first goal for the club - but he has shown on a number of occasions in the Premier League that he can be a bit rash.
The summer signing from Paris Saint-Germain is currently locked in a battle for the right-back spot with Kieran Trippier, with the Englishman often rotated with his new teammate.
Mauricio Pochettino's side confirmed their status as group winners with the 3-0 win over APOEL, and took the most points out of any team in the competition with five wins and a draw.
