Aston Villa have reportedly activated a fee worth £1m to sign Hull City winger Ahmed Elmohamady.

The 29-year-old has left the Tigers' training camp in Portugal to go and complete the move to the Midlands club, and confirmation of the two-year deal is expected on Tuesday - as reported by the Hull Daily Mail.

Villa boss Steve Bruce knows Elmohamady well from their time at both Sunderland and Hull together, and looks like he will be linking back up with the Egyptian international.

The former ENPPI man was relegated with Hull last season, and looks likely to begin a new chapter under an old boss.

He would likely be a nice acquisition for Villa - Elmohamady is a right winger by trade, but has often been deployed at right-back throughout his years in England.

He is fairly experienced now having been in the country since 2010 and at just £1m, represents a relative bargain in today's market.

For Hull, losing Elmohamady would be a blow considering they have already lost Curtis Davies, Harry Maguire, Tom Huddlestone and Eldin Jakupovic, with Andy Robertson and Kamil Grosicki also expected to leave.
