Valencia and Inter Milan in Negotiations Over French Powerhouse Geoffrey Kondogbia
By Ben Carter
La Liga side Valencia are planning on acquiring Geoffrey Kondogbia on a season long loan to plug the gap following a number of high profile exits this summer. The Inter Milan midfielder will likely be used as a direct replacement for Argentine midfielder Enzo Pérez who was shipped out to River Plate following a two-year spell at the Mestalla.
Kondogbia, who has previously had a spell in La Liga with Sevilla, broke onto the European scene with stellar performances in the heart of the AS Monaco midfield. Just two years after a €36m transfer to the San Siro, the French midfielder will be loaned out to Valencia despite concerns over the future of Marcelo Brozović in the Nerazzurri's midfield, according to Football Espana reports.
Valencia, who have seen number one keeper Diego Alves leave for Flamengo in a deal worth only €300,000, are desperate to bring in some players this summer despite having five players returning to the club from loan spells last season.
Kondogbia would fit nicely into the heart of the Valencia midfield, with a chance to replicate the success that compatriot Steven N'Zonzi has had in La Liga. N'Zonzi swapped Stoke for Sevilla in 2015 for just £7m and has become one of the most dominant holding midfielders in Spain.
