Manchester United have released an official statement regarding the departure of young talent Adnan Januzaj. Real Sociedad have officially signed the tricky winger on a five-year deal for a fee of £9.8m states the BBC, as he looks to secure more first-team opportunities.

The Academy graduate and Belgium international has signed with the Spanish side who finished sixth in La Liga last season, bringing an end to a career that consisted of 66 senior appearances and five goals for the Red Devils.

Januzaj has failed to impress manager Jose Mourinho after returning from an unsuccessful campaign on loan at Sunderland. The Belgian midfielder was left out of United's squad for their pre-season tour of America.

He linked up with David Moyes at Sunderland last season, joining on a season-long loan, but did not manage to score in 25 appearances as they were relegated from the Premier League.

The 22-year-old was told he could find another club this summer by United manager Jose Mourinho. He will be unveiled by Sociedad on Thursday after sealing his summer move away from Old Trafford.
