Milan Confirm Goalkeeper Signing as Antonio Donnarumma Joins Brother at San Siro
By Ben Carter
Antonio Donnarumma is set for his second spell with AC Milan after leaving the San Siro in 2012. The club confirmed that that Donnarumma, the 27-year-old brother of Milan prodigy Gianluigi, will sign a four-year contract at the San Siro.
Donnarumma has spent the last year with Greek side Asteras Tripolis, following unsuccessful spells with Genoa and Bari. The older of the two brothers will likely play as an understudy to Milan's 18-year-old poster boy after the young keeper signed a new contract at the San Siro, following a dispute with the Milan hierarchy.
Managing just 21 league appearances for Asteras Tripolis, Donnarumma will be pleased to return to Italy to ply his trade.
AC Milan's new signing might have his younger brother to thank for this transfer, following the recent issues surrounding the money Gianluigi Donnarumma was earning at AC Milan.
After putting pen to paper on a new deal that is littered with release clauses and conditions on the club's performance, the 18-year-old, along with agent Mino Raiola, hold a certain level of swaying power at the San Siro.
