In an early blow to Liverpool's pre-season, the Reds' highly-rated youngster Rhian Brewster has seemingly revealed that he has suffered a serious-looking injury via his Snapchat account.
The 17-year-old was poised for an important pre-season in a bid to impress Jurgen Klopp following his appearance in the Reds' first-team friendly against Sydney in the post-season.
The striker started last season as a key member of the Red's Under-18's side before being promoted to the U23's - scoring 14 goals in all competitions - catching Klopp's eye in the process as the youngster's talent was spoken of on a number occasions by the German.
Brewster also found himself on the bench for Liverpool in their league matchup against Crystal Palace in April, however, his progress has seemingly been stopped in its tracks after the 17-year-old used his social media account, via Anfield HQ, to inform his followers of his set-back, which showed the striker with a protective boot on his left leg and a post saying: "I will be back stronger."
A regular trainer at Melwood towards the end of last season, Brewster could of seen himself as part of Klopp's summer plans with members of the first-team scheduled to return to training on Wednesday.
However, there has been no official word on how the 17-year-old sustained the injury or the seriousness of it, but Liverpool supporters will be hoping for a quick recovery time for the youngster who could still have his part to play in the club's pre-season matches.
