Corentin Tolisso has just joined a star-studded midfield at Bayern Munich, and has now explained why he snubbed Juventus in order to do so.

The former Lyon star was in talks with the Old Lady before deciding to make the £35m switch to the Allianz Arena, and he has now revealed that personal success would be most probable for him over in Germany.

He told RMC Sport, as translated by Squawka: "I was able to speak to Juventus. The club had not made an offer to OL. But as soon as Bayern’s offer arrived, I knew I wanted to join them.

"It’s a club that suits my ambitions, where I think I have the most chances to succeed. I spoke with the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] as well as Willy Sagnol [assistant manager] and it went extremely well."

The 22-year-old now embarks on a new challenge in the Bundesliga after a 10-year stay at Lyon, and represents Bayern's most expensive signing ever after the club shelled out a little bit more than they did for Javi Martinez at £31.6m five years ago.

Tolisso has really progressed over the past couple of seasons in Ligue 1, and recently made his full international debut against Spain, and will be eyeing success with Bayern to ensure that his decision to snub Juventus becomes vindicated.
