PSG have made contact with Monaco midfielder Fabinho's representatives ahead of a potential transfer offer.
Manchester United have made the 23-year-old one of their primary transfer targets this summer but face competition from the French giants, who lost the Ligue 1 title to Fabinho's Monaco and will spend big during the window in the hope of wrestling back the national crown next season.
According to RMC Sport, PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has made contact with Fabinho's representatives after a meeting was scheduled between the two parties.
PSG could be preparing for the departure of star midfielder Marco Verratti, who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona despite PSG's continued insistence that he will not be leaving, but Unai Emery's side's interest in Fabinho could mean the Italy international is likely to depart the Parc des Princes.
United are eager to add to their midfield roster, which currently contains Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini, and Fabinho's title-winning experience could prove beneficial to the Red Devils, who are hoping to mount a Premier League challenge next season.
Fabinho was one of Monaco's star performers as Leonardo Jardim's side fought off competition from PSG and Nice to claim the Ligue 1 title, with the Brazilian scoring nine goals and adding an assist in 37 league appearances.
PSG finished second to Monaco by eight points and will be looking to overturn that difference in the 2017-18 season, with Monaco stars Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Lemar and Fabinho all being linked with moves away from France.
