Bayern Munich have confirmed the £35m signing of Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso, who joins on a deal until 2022.

The 22-year-old successfully passed his medical on Wednesday after agreeing a contract with the Bundesliga champions.

Tolisso scored 14 times and provided seven assists in 47 appearances for Lyon last season, helping his side to a fourth placed finish.

The French international becomes Bayern's fifth signing of the summer as manager Carlo Ancelotti looks to add further options to his talented squad.

Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry joined the Bavarian club from Werder Bremen, while Hoffenheim duo Sebastian Rudy and Niklas Sule agreed deals to move to Munich back in January. Winger Kingsley Coman also made his loan move from Juventus permanent.

New addition Tolisso was an unused substitute as France beat England 3-2 in a friendly at the Stade de France on Tuesday night.

He was a top performer for Lyon in Ligue 1 last season, but admitted that he was disappointed in his side's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Tolisso has eclipsed Javi Martinez - brought in from Athletic Bilbao for £34m - as Bayern's all-time record signing.

The midfielder has featured 160 times in all competitions for Les Gones in his four seasons as a professional footballer, and has weighed in with 29 goals and 17 assists.

Tolisso will next season contest with the likes of Arturo Vidal, Thiago and Joshua Kimmich for a starting berth under Ancelotti.
