Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to L'Equipe via Goal.
The Blues have long been rumoured to be interested in the France international, who was a key part of the Monaco side which claimed the Ligue 1 title by eight points, beating the likes of PSG and Nice to the championship.
Chelsea won the Premier League and are looking to strengthen their midfield options, with central pairing Nemanja Matic and N'Golo Kante often starting and Cesc Fabregas featuring from the bench and playing more regularly towards the end of the season.
Negotiations between the two sides have progressed significantly in the last few days, despite Chelsea recently becoming frustrated at the lack of headway being made during discussions, but all three parties are said to have agreed the financial terms of the deal.
Monaco used the discussions to mention their interest in Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, who largely struggled for game time but became more present towards the end of the campaign, scoring the winner against West Brom which confirmed Antonio Conte's side as Premier League champions before netting three goals against Watford and Sunderland.
However, Batshuayi is not expected to join Monaco as part of the deal and will instead look to cement himself in Chelsea's first-team squad after Diego Costa announced he had no future at the club.
The Stamford Bridge side are hopeful of bringing in Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer as they look to retain their Premier League crown during the 2017-18 season.
