Sports.ru are reporting that Arsenal are edging ever closer to sealing a deal for CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.

Sources close to the Russian club have claimed that a figure of £10million has been agreed for the 21-year-old.

Arsene Wenger is wasting little time this summer when it comes to transfers, after already securing the signing of left-back Seat Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke last week.

Arsenal's next target, Golovin, made his debut for CSKA in 2015 but was a first team regular in the Russian top flight last season. He made 20 league appearances last campaign, helping CSKA finish in second place in the Russian Premier League, scoring three goals and providing four assists.

The 21-year-old was mainly deployed in a central midfield role last season, but has also been used on the left flank, in a campaign where he was highlighted as one of the leagues stand-out performers.

The young midfielder has also been capped 12 times for Russia’s national team and was in the squad for last year’s Euro 2016 campaign.

However Arsenal fans may have to wait to see the Russian starlet play at the Emirates, as CSKA have asked Arsenal to keep the midfielder on loan for another year. Furthermore it has also been suggested that Golovin could be sent on loan to Hull City for the season, to link up with former CSKA boss Leonid Slutsky.

Arsene Wenger has shown in the past with Rob Holding that buying young talent can be successful. However Arsenal fans will surely be looking for some additional big name signings, to restore lost faith in their French manager. With the transfer window soon to be underway, it is almost a certainty that Wenger will continue to look to add quality to his squad this summer.
