Fernando Torres could depart Atletico this summer, with Mexican club Cruz Azul interested in securing his services.
According to Marca, the Mexican outfit believe that Torres will be a perfect fit for their side in Liga MX, and are confident of signing the 33-year-old striker in the coming weeks.
Cruz Azul manager Paco Jemez knows Torres well, having managed four different clubs in six year in La Liga.
Jemez is set to offer the Spanish striker a multi-million pound deal which he believes will be too good to turn down - especially with Torres' advancing years.
It's been reported that a small group of representatives from Club Azul will travel to Spain on Wednesday in an attempt to convince the striker, nicknamed 'El Nino', to join the Mexican side.
Torres is likely to want to remain at Atletico for at least another year, especially as the club holds such a strong place in his heart. However, he could find himself down the pecking order in Madrid, behind the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Kevin Gameiro and Luciano Vietto.
It could be the case that Torres will take advantage of one last big paycheck before his retirement and with Cruz Azul rumoured to want to make him their highest paid player, it may well be the end of El Nino's Atletico career.
