Despite a plethora of transfer rumours linking James Rodríguez to Manchester United, it appears that his agent has held talks Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
It has been reported by Colombian radio channel Blu Radio that Manchester United are in fact not interested in signing the Real Madrid star but that James agent, Jorge Mendes, has held talks over a possible switch to Germany.
The 25-year-old attack midfielder has featured in just 21 La Liga matches for Real Madrid this season, accumulating a total of 1,157 minutes on the pitch. With an average of just over 55 minutes per league appearance, the Colombian talisman is expected to leave Madrid this summer just three years after joining Real in a £64m from AS Monaco.
James joined Real Madrid after his standout performances during the 2014 World Cup, coming off the back of a brilliant maiden season in Ligue 1 where he was involved in 22 goals in 34 games for Monaco.
The midfielder's first steps in European football came in 2010 when he joined FC Porto from Argentinian side Club Atlético Banfield for £6m. James played 105 times for Porto, scoring 31 goals and assisting another 39.
James joined Monaco the same year as former Porto team-mate Radamel Falcao. The French side paid close to £40m for the Colombia midfielder after just three years in Portugal. James then stayed with Monaco for only twelve months after Real Madrid bought the World Cup hero in 2014.
James is highly expected to leave Real Madrid this summer, with a number of Premier League sides interested in the Colombian. Manchester United appeared to be leading the race but with Bayern Munich having an interest in the Madrid star, it is now unknown where the midfielder will be playing next season.
