Newcastle United have officially released their 125th anniversary home kit designed by Puma for the 2017/18 season, introducing new shirt sponsor Fun88.

The kit throws back to a very traditional looking black and white stripes, even going as far as including red numbers on the back of the shirts to throw it back to the style worn by former club greats.

Speaking to the club's official website about the new strip, managing director Lee Charnley said:

"The anniversary crest, simplicity of the design and the red numbers on the back of the shirt are just small touches that make it a special kit for a milestone season."

The new kit release introduces the club's new sponsors in Fun88, an Asian online gaming website founded in 2008. The club have signed a three year deal with the company, replacing their previous shirt sponsor Wonga.

"It was important for us to find the right partner and in FUN88, we have a shirt sponsor that understands the club and brings significant benefits commercially." Claimed Charnley

The club tweeted a series of photos and videos for their release, featuring old club legends such as Bob Moncur, Frank Clark, Malcolm MacDonald and Peter Beardsley alongside current club players.

The club have said that while the away and third kits won't be announced until the summer, the home kit will be available from June 15.

Furthermore, as part of gambling regulations, junior kits will only be available without a shirt sponsor.

A classy looking kit befitting of a side who deserve to be back in the top flight of English football.
