La Liga superstars Neymar and Antoine Griezmann have both ‘got the moves’ when it comes to taking on opposition defenders.
However, it also appears that the respective Barcelona and Atletico Madrid stars have a flair for goal celebrations as well, as reported by GiveMeSport.
During Barcelona’s 4-1 victory against Villarreal, Neymar paid tribute to Griezmann’s recognisable ‘hotline bling’ shoulder shuffle after scoring the opening goal.
After watching Neymar try his trademark dance, Atletico Madrid’s talismanic striker showed his appreciation on Instagram, editing two photographs of himself and the Barca star together with the caption: ‘true knows true.’
Griezmann then displayed some of his editing skills, superimposing crowns on the Brazil star and himself.
It seems that the French international has as keen an eye for a viral sensation as he does for a goal, with his post quickly garnering some 1.1m likes. Neymar was quick to respond, re-posting the edit with the caption ‘brother’s joy.’
Their social media love-in shows no signs of abating as the Brazilian has been seen spreading the dance to his Barcelona team-mates on the training ground.
As GiveMeSport reported, via the Mirror, striker Luis Suarez was so amused by the back and forth on social media that he couldn’t help bring it up in training, and the exchange was caught on camera.
The Uruguayan is seen approaching Neymar and mimicking the gesture, and a delighted Neymar hams it up with his own impression.
As ever, Lionel Messi is relaxed and smiles at his fellow forward men, but no sign of a trendy social media inspired shake from ‘the flea.’
Griezmann has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United reportedly leading the pack.
So just when you thought the pandemic of dab celebrations had begun to abate, don’t be surprised to see a fresh outbreak of Griezmann inspired jigs in the Premier League next season.
