Real Madrid's 'B team' ran riot against Deportivo on Wednesday night after Zinedine Zidane's nine changes from El Clasico racked up an impressive 6-2 win.
An inspired performance from Isco saw Los Blancos dominate the match in all areas, and the French manager paid tribute to the star man, regarding the playmaker as 'phenomenal.'
"Not just the goals as we scored six, but the performance of them all. These are players who do not always play, and what they did today was phenomenal, in the rhythm, the seriousness they showed from the first moment.
"We had some moments of difficulty, but that is normal. I am very happy with how they all played."
After such an impressive performance from players that haven't seen all too much game time this season, calls for bigger names to be replaced ramped up immediately after the match.
"There will always be a debate until the end," said Zidane, addressing the subject.
"We have a game on Saturday, then comes Tuesday, then Saturday again. The good thing is we are all ready and all motivated. That is the difficulty I have, to tell someone who played like that they cannot play the next game.
"But it is like this and they understand the situation."
The Madrid manager also went out of his way to praise Isco, who turned in another spectacular performance when relied upon.

"Isco was phenomenal,
"He does things on the pitch that not everybody can. The [Depor] fans congratulated him, I am happy for him, for the work he does. When he has to play he always does his job."
Madrid's win keeps them in the driving seat for the race for the La Liga title; level on points with rivals Barcelona, but with a game in hand.
