Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is attracting interest from Liverpool and a host of other major European clubs, according to Don Balon.

Benzema has struggled for game time under manager Zinedine Zidane and his form has suffered as a consequence - with the striker scoring just nine times in 24 league appearances this season, compared to 24 goals in 27 appearances last year.

Having to share the lone striker role with Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo has also taken its toll and now the French international is considering his future. Liverpool, Arsenal, both Milan clubs and Paris Saint-Germain have all been talked up as potential destinations in the report.

With the Reds enjoying one of their best seasons in recent years under Jurgen Klopp and Champions League football all but secure, they will have plenty of buying power in the summer as well. They will need to strengthen the squad however with the higher calibre of matches and increased game time that competing in Europe's top competition brings.

With Andy Carroll and Christian Benteke - big money buys from the past - failing to make the grade, Liverpool may be wary. However, Benzema remains an established goalscorer and has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time.

Having Roberto Firmino excel in the striker role this season as well as Daniel Sturridge as a back up when he is fit the Reds are asking the question of whether they need another lone striker, however.

Liverpool fans may enjoy a big money buy, but with Firmino combining well with Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho, Klopp may look to strengthen other areas first.

Benzema wont be lacking for options however with the other clubs all showing an interest.
