La Liga leaders Real Madrid have been handed a boost ahead of the El Clasico this Sunday with energetic forward Gareth Bale returning to training this Thursday.

However according to Sky Sports, Real Madrid manager Zidedine Zidane is reluctant to rush the Welshman back with the Champions League semi-finals less than two weeks away.

Speaking before this past Tuesday's tie against Bayern Munich, Zidane said:

"When he came back he was desperate to be involved and now he has a small niggle that is preventing him from being fully fit."

"I hope it is nothing and in a few days he can be with us again."

Bale was forced off in the second half of the quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich with a muscle complaint and has since missed the league game against Sporting Gijon and the second leg against the German champions this past week.

But with his return to training, there is little to no doubt that Bale will be involved this Sunday but whether that be from the start or the bench is up to Zidane.

FC Barcelona v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

Real host Barca this Sunday with the gap between only three points, however Los Blancos do have a game in hand over the Catalans so at the moment it is Real's title to lose.

Barca will be hoping to bounce back with a huge victory after a disappointing week being knocked out of the Champions League comfortably by Juventus.

But they will have to do so without Brazilian Neymar, who is banned after a confrontation with a match official earlier this month.
