Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is no longer the Premier League's top passer this season after Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilcueta completed his 1,777th pass of the campaign last weekend to move ten ahead of the Reds skipper, data courtesy of EA SPORTS can reveal.
Azpiliceuta, who has managed a successful transition from full-back to centre-back in 2016/17, has completed 87.62% of the 2,028 passes he's attempted.
Henderson, currently on 1,767 successful passes from 2,057 attempts (85.90%) had been leading the Premier League's passing rankings since August. His enforced absence through injury since early February explains why he has now been caught.
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is the only other player in the league this season to have attempted more than 2,000 passes or complete more than 1,700.
Chelsea star and PFA Players' Player of the Year favourite N'Golo Kante has been the most accurate among the Premier League's top 10 passers with a success rate of 88.78% from his 1,899 attempts.
Pogba is joined in the top 10 by United team-mate Ander Herrera, who has successfully completed 1,629 passes at an accuracy of 87.91%, while Granit Xhaka is Arsenal's only representative among the elite passers with 1,591 completions to his name.
Manchester City pair David Silva and Fernandinho have also completed over 1,500 passes each, while Bournemouth's Harry Arter (1,483) and Liverpool's James Milner (1,475) round off the top 10.
