Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois reportedly suffered the ankle injury currently keeping him sidelined during a promotional shoot for the NBA.
Sky Sports via the Daily Mail revealed the Belgium international picked up the knock 'filming for an NBA commercial', but Blues manager Antonio Conte was quick to dismiss speculation of how his goalie sustained the injury.
"It's not important to understand the way he had this injury," Conte said.
"During the week he had an ankle injury and he didn't recover for this game. I hope only this game (he misses)."
Chelsea will be hopeful Courtois only misses the Premier League match at Manchester United on Sunday, with the London side due to be in action again in their FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham on Saturday.
Asmir Begovic made his first Premier League appearance of the season on Sunday, having previously started in FA Cup and EFL Cup matches, and both Graeme Souness and Frank Lampard suggested the Courtois incident will likely leave Antonio Conte fuming.
Souness said: "As a manager you aren’t going to be too happy with that. They have commercial responsibilities. You’re tearing you’re hair out with something like that.
Lampard added: "Someone is getting it in the neck. If it’s a club thing it’s different, but if he has done that off his own back..."
Chelsea also have worries over wing-back Marcos Alonso, who was withdrawn from the starting line-up after sustaining a hamstring injury in the warm-up, being replaced by Kurt Zouma.
