Since Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu's loan move to the San Siro from Goodison Park, the stuttering attacking player has gathered some momentum during his appearances for AC Milan, and hasn't looked back.
Deulofeu's former club Barcelona have the option of signing the resurgent Spanish international back from the Toffee's for just £12m.
And when Milan's general manager Adriano Galliani was quizzed about the possibility of the player rejoining the Catalonian giants, via Sport-English, he remained guarded on the matter, but insisted that the two European outfits have been in contact.
Galliani claimed: "Deulofeu? I have spoke with Barcelona, but I won't tell you what they said to me."
Barca sent two of their scouts to Italy to watch Deulofeu ply his trade. The wayward form which he displayed during his time on Merseyside is a factor of the past, and the effective number 7 scored the last of the four goal route over Palermo for Milan on Sunday, with no reply from the Rosanero.
Deulofeu appears to be growing in confidence, and this was embodied in his celebration when he removed his right boot and kissed it earnestly, after rifling a ball into the back of the net from outside of the penalty area.
The recent rise in Deulofeu's form has seen the blistering winger return to La Roja's national fold. In a recent international friendly against France, Deulofeu managed to bag himself a goal, further proving his impressive credentials which have seen him grow in stature over the course of the current season, especially when featuring in the Serie A.
With Ronald Koeman looking to usher in a new era of football at Everton in the coming summer, we're sure that they'll be hard-fought battle in the newly founded race to acquire his services next season.
